Revolut’s insurance is provided through Steadfast Insurance Partners via Cover Genius (XCover), and cover ends at your 76th birthday. Who Ultra pays for
Ultra costs €495 a year more than Metal. The difference is almost entirely in three benefits:
- Lounges and Fast Track. Unlimited instead of discounted. This is the one that decides it, and it only pays if you fly often.
- Longer and business trips. Premium and Metal cover private trips of up to 30 days; Ultra covers up to 90 days and business travel.
- More cash and data. €2,000 instead of €800 a month, and 5 GB instead of 3 GB of eSIM data.
If you fly a couple of times a year, Revolut Metal or Premium gets you the fee-free exchange and travel insurance for far less. In Germany, €65 a month or €650 a year for customers who joined on or after 7 May 2026; earlier customers keep €60 a month or €600 a year, according to Revolut’s German fee schedule read in September 2026. The pricing page labels the monthly price an introductory offer. In the UK, Ultra costs £55 a month.
What does Revolut Ultra include that Metal does not?
Unlimited airport lounge access instead of discounted passes, unlimited Fast Track, €2,000 of fee-free ATM withdrawals a month instead of €800, 5 GB of global eSIM data instead of 3 GB, and travel insurance that covers business trips and trips of up to 90 days instead of 30. Ultra replaces standard trip cancellation cover with a cancel for any reason policy.
Is Revolut Ultra worth it?
Only for frequent travellers who would otherwise pay for lounge visits and long-trip insurance. Ultra costs €650 a year against €155 for Metal, so the €495 difference has to come from lounges, the larger cash allowance, the extra eSIM data and the 90-day, business-trip insurance. For one or two holidays a year, Metal or Premium is cheaper.
Does Revolut Ultra cover car rental excess?
Yes. Revolut’s help centre says car hire excess cover is included with Metal and Ultra, up to €2,000, and that it does not replace motor insurance. You need the rental company’s basic collision damage waiver, and rentals of 32 days or more are excluded.
